I have an employee that is traveling internationally. Although I wanted to send them with petty cash funds I was unable to before they left.
Now They are there making ATM withdrawals and then sending me the receipts to go along with the funds use.
There are a lot of transactions and I want to get them in the books daily, but how do I record in the books both the AP due of the ATM withdrawal and the individual expenses that I would like categorized properly?
Let me help with your questions about recording withdrawals and categorizing expenses transactions, Tribalgirl1.
You can create a bill to enter the transactions in your A/P. Then, make a payment or match the receipts to close the bill and mark them as paid. Here's how:
First, create a bill for the expenses. Here's an article as a guide: Enter Bills and Record Bill Payments in QuickBooks Online.
Second, match the expenses or receipts to the bills to mark them as paid. Follow the steps in these articles for more details:

That would not account for the ATM withdrawal. They are w/drawing their own funds (which is what needs to be paid) but as they spend those funds I need to enter the transactions to the correct COA. Ex. Withdrew 300$, spend 50 on food and 50 on Gas. The remaining funds of $200 get allocated where?
