Join nowFor reasons I cannot figure out, randomly my cash drawer won't close after opening and the receipt won't print. There is a clicking noise coming from the cash drawer. It seems to be happening once the computer is restarted. After unplugging everything and plugging back in, it goes back to normal but what could be causing this? It's getting annoying to have to take everything apart after each customer transaction. It's worked fine for years and now all of the sudden it starts doing this. Has anyone else faced this issue?
Thanks for checking in with us, SLMoore82.

Maybe I can help…
see if the correct printer is being used. POS loses the receipt printer sometimes and needs to be re installed. In the hardware set up, you will probably find multiple versions of the same printer. Be brave and choose the other one… and then reconnect it to the drawer. That clicking clunking noise is very annoying!
good luck!
Hello,
I'm having the same issue with the cash drawer opening and then clicking again and again to open and open, so that you can't close the cash drawer without unplugging it, which is really annoying. Also, the cash drawer coordinates with the printer, so then we can't print receipts.
Gregpeggyw below answered with a workaround, but I'd like to know how to prevent the problem from happening at all. Do I need to delete both the TSP100 and TSP100 (copy1) printers and reinstall them? How do I find the right drivers to install? The info online says install the CD ROM, but I no longer have a CD ROM drive.
Thanks!
Hello,
Our cash drawer also sometimes pops open and then keeps popping open so that you can't close it without unplugging it. Since it's connected to the receipt printer, that means we can't print receipts, either.
Greggpeggyw below posted a workaround, but I'd like to know how to prevent it in the future. Do we need to uninstall both the TSP100 and TSP100 (copy) printers, and then reinstall? If so, how do we find the right driver(s) to go with the printer? The online instructions say to use the CD ROM, but we no longer have a CD ROM drive.
Please let me know how to fix this! It is incredible frustrating and time-consuming to do the workaround, and does not serve our customers well.
Thank you.
