clients CANNOT search for ProAdvisors using Quickbooks.com SUPPORT, Meet Your Match option

Latest incident in an unfortunate LONG series of Intuit incompetence...a client reached out to me today...wanted to leave me a "glowing review," but couldn't.  Each time she tried, she received this message:  "Error While Searching

There was an error while searching for accountants. Please try again later."

This seemed odd to me, so I investigated...after all, what ProAdvisor doesn't need a "glowing review"(particularly in these most peculiar times, when any and all positive reviews are crucial to help recruit new business)?

After an hour of research, and contacting ProAdvisor support (and at this time, 9:45 pm EST still on the chat session with them by the way) I discovered that the only way a client can not only leave a review for a ProAdvisor, but can even SEARCH for a ProAdvisor, is if they login to Intuit with their Intuit credentials.  WHAT???  I know this sounds NUTS, STUPID, CRAZY, but I verified a dozen times.  If I signed in with my Intuit credentials, I can search for any ProAdvisor, leave any review I choose.  If I DON'T login, I CANNOT.  I tried with Google Chrome, incognito windows, Internet Explorer, BING, etc., etc.  This is the deal:  the only way a client can not only leave a review for a ProAdvisor, but can even SEARCH for a ProAdvisor, is if they login to Intuit with their Intuit credentials.

How can we ProAdvisors deal with this?  Not only can our current clients NOT leave us much valued reviews, but prospective clients cannot even find us to request help.  What is it exactly that we're paying in excess of $1,000 per year for?  Looks like it isn't for business leads...

Hello there, japeeler.

I do appreciate that steps you've done ahead to get rid of the error, and verified how clients can look for an accountant. When clients look for accountants they can use this link in which they don't need to log in to their account, just their specific address.

Also, I suggest reaching out to us again so we can further investigate the error prompted when trying to search for an accountant since you've done a few troubleshooting steps. Here's how to connect with us.

  1. Click the Help icon within your QuickBooks account.
  2. Hit Contact us.
  3. Enter your concern about helping clients search for accountant and the error There was an error while searching for accountants. Please try again later.
  4. Click Let's talk and select a way on how to connect with us.

You can leave a reply here if you need anything else. Take care always and keep safe!

I appreciate the reply, I really do, but you're just making my case for me.  I accessed the link you noted, and I received the same error, AGAIN (screen shot attached).

And, just like with every response from the Quickbooks Team in these forums, I am instructed to contact Intuit with my issue (not my first rodeo).  I did so, I even followed the instructions you noted verbatim before you sent them because, again, not my first rodeo, I knew exactly what to do, and guess what!  That got me nowhere; I had to post yet another issue in this forum about the customer support I received trying to fix the first issue!  For your reading enjoyment:  Re: Intuit

I'd really like for prospective clients to be able to search for me online...I really don't think that's too much to ask.  Is it?

I know how important it is to let your clients search for your credentials and leave a good review for the services you've provided to them, japeeler. Rest assured that I have an alternative method you can perform to resolve this.

Letting your prospective clients search for your credentials even though they don't have an Intuit account yet is beneficial to ProAdvisors like you are. However, this option is currently unavailable.

Since your prospective clients are unable to search your information through the Find a ProAdvisor page, they can still add you through the Manage users window in QBO. Once they have an active account, they can give you access to their company and work together in monitoring the progress of their business.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Manage Users.
  3. Choose the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Click the Invite button.
  5. Complete the required fields and select Save.

QuickBooks lets your clients invite users and accountants depending on their plan. To know their limits, let them refer to this article for the complete details: How many users can I set up? It also contains links on how they can upgrade their current plan.

You can also visit our QuickBooks Blog to keep track of the newly added features and its latest improvements in the program.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.

This is truly BIZARRE...what part of this don't you get??  I am stating that prospective clients, they have NO IDEA who I am, who any ProAdvisors are, CANNOT search for a ProAdvisor in their local area.  If I wanted to search for a ProAdvisor in Seattle, for example, keep in mind I know NO ONE there, I cannot search for ANYONE.  Any search results in an error message.  This is not that hard to comprehend.  Why do I pay over $1,000 per year for my ProAdvisor membership when no one can search in their local area to find a list of ProAdvisors???  Did you even bother to read my initial post?

"After an hour of research, and contacting ProAdvisor support (and at this time, 9:45 pm EST still on the chat session with them by the way) I discovered that the only way a client can not only leave a review for a ProAdvisor, but can even SEARCH for a ProAdvisor, is if they login to Intuit with their Intuit credentials. This is the deal:  the only way a client can not only leave a review for a ProAdvisor, but can even SEARCH for a ProAdvisor, is if they login to Intuit with their Intuit credentials."

Why do I even try to post in these forums for help?   It's just a waste of my time...I should get back to working for the clients that I do have...doesn't look like I'll be helping any new clients SINCE THEY DON'T KNOW I EXIST.
