Company Files

Looking for suggestions

I have my own Desktop 2019 Accountant version of QuickBooks that I use for multiple company files; I have payroll subscriptions.

I have one client that has their own desktop version of Desktop 2019 QuickBooks.

I inherited this client.

Currently I process payroll on my file.

Then I use the client's computer to input the rest of the data and abbreviated payroll into their version.

There's got to be a better way to have one company file without having the client have payroll.

Merge the files and email back and forth?

Thank you.

Hey, @Jen Forget Me Not

It's always great to see a new face here in the Community. I see how merging the files would be easier for you and your client's business. At this time, there isn't a way to merge the files. However, I'll send product feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider this as an option in one of the upcoming releases for QuickBooks. They take the time to review every customer's request and to improve the product for everyone.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm always here to lend a helping hand.

Ask your client to put their license and data file on an authorized QB cloud hosting. It costs $30/month for 1 user access and you may utilize it in turns with your client. Another option, ask your client to deploy a private cloud and it costs $25/month/access.
