condo unit numbering

I have a 150 unit condo association.  I am listing the customers names and unit numbers.

ex:

John Doe Unit #1

Jane Doe Unit #2

The unit numbers are not coming up in numerical order.

I appreciate you for posting your concern here in Community, @cab21. I'll make sure you can sort your customer lists in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The customer list in QBDT is sorted numerically. If you add new ones, the system will prioritize them.

To help you fix this, we first want to ensure that your QBDT software is in its latest release.

Then, all you have to do is resort, and the order will be restored to the default. Here's how to do it:

  1. Click the Customers from the top menu.
  2. Choose Customer Center.
  3. Right-click the customers' lists page.
  4. Choose Re-sort List.
  5. Select OK to confirm.

For more information about this process, please refer to this article: Re-sort lists in QuickBooks Desktop. It helps fix things when there's an issue on your list.

If you prefer a Hierarchical View, select it from the customer list. This way, the program will stay in your preferred view.

Additionally, check out this article if you need detailed steps on how to track your customer transactions: Get started with customer transaction workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have any other follow-up questions about sorting your customer lists, let me know by adding a comment below. I'll get back to you as soon as I can help you again. Have a good one!
