Credit Card Fee

Is there a way to set up a credit card fee that changes the fee itself based on a percentage from a sub total? ie. sub total = $100 / Credit card fee = $2.5  (2.5%)

Credit Card Fee

It's nice to see you here, @Willy Wonka,

At the moment, setting up a credit card fee item that automatically calculates the percentage of the total sale is not yet introduced in QBO. When you add a convenience fee, you'll need to enter a flat rate or update it based on how much the customer must be charged for.

We do that by setting up a Service item for the credit card charge. Here are the steps to do that:

  1. Tap the Gear icon then choose Products and Services.
  2. On the Products and Services list page, click New.
  3. Choose Service from the list.
  4. Fill in the necessary information then press Save and close.

Now you can add this item to the customer's invoice, just update the amount manually based on the sale. See this article for detailed steps on how to add product and service items to QuickBooks Online.

Don't worry, if there are new updates for our products, it will be communicated through in-product ads. You can also check out these links to be updated with the recent and upcoming changes for our QuickBooks products:
