Custom Fields

Hello all

I created a custom field for weight of each inventory item/s. Now I would like that to calculate and show the total weight of items on a sales order. Is that possible in Qbooks Enterprise?

Hey there, @Elam.

Currently, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) doesn't have a feature to automatically calculate the total weight of each item in a sales order. This is because custom fields require manual data entry.

However, you can still display each item's weight on the form and manually compute it. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Customers menu.
  2. Select Create Sales Orders.
  3. Fill out the necessary details in the form.
  4. Go to the Formatting tab and choose Customize Data Layout.
  5. Open the Columns tab and locate the weight custom field.
  6. Tick the checkboxes for Screen and Print to display it in the form.
  7. Finally, click OK.

Thanks Jean. Having Quickbooks calculate the total weight, would be REALLY helpful. What are the chances they'll ever add that capability?
