Buy nowI have created a customized template for an invoice that I like. The preview looks the way I'd like it to look. However, when I apply it to a customer, it includes a green button with the words "Pay Invoice" underneath "Balance Due" and I don't want it there because I do not accept payments online so it is confusing for the customer to see that. Again, it is not on my preview for my customized template I created but is there when I apply it to a customer. How do I get rid of it?
It's good to have you here, lori2509.
I recognize the importance of removing the "Pay Invoice" option from an invoice. Rest assured, I have the information to accomplish this in QuickBooks Online.
You can turn off the Credit Card for Online Payments by unchecking the box under Edit payment methods within your invoice. Doing this will eliminate the "Pay Invoice" underneath the Balance Due of your invoice.
I've attached screenshots of the new invoice layout and the old one for your visual reference.
In addition, I'm including an article that offers guidance on creating customer statements to display overviews of their invoices, payments, credits, and outstanding balances: Create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted if you need further assistance managing your invoices in QuickBooks. I'll be here to provide you with the support that you need. Keep safe.
Mine doesn't look like that. I'm having to use an old template because I could not get the new one to have the look I wanted. When I go to Payment options, and click "Manage" under Payment details, I just get an option to "Learn More" or "Connect" and that's it. Everything worked perfectly fine until they made those changes that took effect on October 16 that said "QuickBooks Online invoicing is being updated with new functionality". It has severely limited me instead of making things better and I don't understand why I'm having so much trouble. This is extremely frustrating!
It can be challenging when we cannot work with features we're comfortable with, @lori2509.
Let me share some insights about the Pay Invoice option.
The Pay Invoice feature is the newest update, made to simplify the process of generating and processing payments. This means faster development and easier experience over time. However, some features will not be available on the new version yet. Rest assured, the Product Engineers are working on this to deliver top customer-centered products and services.
Also, we would love to hear your suggestions about having the option to remove this feature and recommend submitting feedback. This way, we can enhance your experience with QBO and this feature recommendation will be shared with our Product Development team.

Moreover, I'll add this article about recording payments to connect it to the invoice to balance your accounts in QuickBooks Online: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
