Customizing the Note to Customer field on the invoice to be a default message for all invoices.

I am trying to make a default message on the customer invoices, so far when I change that field it only changes it for that one invoice. Is there a way to make it a default message. When I go into manage and select edit default settings, it does not bring up the Note to Customer Field to edit

Customizing the Note to Customer field on the invoice to be a default message for all invoices.

Welcome to the Community, Jen Glastonbury. I appreciate your detailed information.

You can customize the text that's displayed in your Note to customer field from the Custom form styles screen.

Here's how:

  1. Use your Gear icon, then go to Custom form styles.
  2. Find a template you want to edit and click its Edit option under the Action column. You can also use New style to create an invoice-specific template if necessary.
  3. Access your Content tab.
  4. Open the Footer section's customization options.
  5. In your Message to customer on text field, replace the current text with what you want your Note to customer section to auto-recall when creating invoices.
  6. Select Done. If you created a new style, be sure to set it as the default for that sales form type if you want it to be used for auto-recall on new invoices.

I've also included a detailed resource about customizing invoices which may come in handy moving forward: Customize invoices, estimates, & sales receipts

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a lovely Monday!
