Data did not transfer

I attempted to upgrade from self employed to online today. In the middle of it I got an error box stating I needed to chat with someone. The chat boxes popped up and stated that the office was closed. So, I attempted to go back into self employed but I had already been converted. I had not downloaded data. How do I get my data back?

Hey there, @cwick33.

 

Once you moved your data from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), only your bank transactions will be transferred. 

 

Since transferring your data aren't successful, you can still reconnect your bank to your QBSE account. This way, you can get back your transactions.

 

  1. Go to the Settings ⚙ icon and select Bank accounts.
  2. Click Connect another account.
  3. In the search box, enter the name of the bank and account type.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your account. 

 

Once done, the program will automatically download your recent bank transactions.

 

Now that you have reconnected your account, you'll want to categorize your transactions. Learn more and get detailed steps on how to categorize transactions.

 

Additionally, if the invoices created in your QBSE were also gone, I'd recommend reaching out to our customer support. This way, they can review your account and retrieve the data that was lost.

I need all my transactions back. I do cash sales entered manually. I have open and closed invoices. I have to get all my data back. How do I do that?

Thanks for getting back to this thread. Allow me to provide you alternative steps to get back your invoice data. Since the QuickBooks Community is a public forum, our team doesn't have the tools that could trace your missing sales transactions.

 

However, you can reach out to our QuickBooks Support Team. They are the ones who can check your account and help you in retrieving your invoices. 

 

Simply follow these steps so you can reach out to them:

 

  1. Click the Assistant icon and type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
  2. Enter the same keyword (Talk to a human) when prompted. 
  3. Click I still need a human.
  4. Choose between Message an agent and Get a callback.
