I am running Quickbooks Pro 2015 Desktop and have an 'orphaned' payment that I would like to delete.
When I click on the payment from the Customer->Client menu, it brings me to the customer payment menu with the payment. when the delete icon is selected, the 'You need to delete this payment from the deposit before you can delete the transaction itself, or edit its name or amount' warning appears.
There is no record of the deposit in the checking or savings accounts when scrolling through the 'Record Deposits' entries.
Trying to delete the payment via the accounts receiveable general ledger generates the same warning.
It almost appears that the payment is 'orphaned' ...
Suggestions on next steps appreciated.
