I just migrated from QB Desktop for my bookkeeping firm, had a horrible migration. Now I can't email invoices to my clients through QBO. I get a delivery message. I tried also to email a reminder and I get a message that says. "You can't send emails with your subscription. To send an email through Quickbooks, you can subscribe to Quickbooks Practice Management or purchase an Intuit professional Tax Solution"
WHY!! Would I not be able to carry out the simple function of sending invoices to my clients?? This is very frustrating. I've had a ticket in for a month now and whenever I call in to get an update, support can't help me. They have no information. How do we get this resolved and has anyone else experienced this problem?
This is not the service we want you to experience with QuickBooks, @pennywise77. I'll be here to share a workaround so you can email your invoices and other reminders successfully.
Since you received a delivery message while sending the invoices, you can start by reviewing the billing subscription of your account to see if it's active. Follow the steps below for your reference:
If your account is active, you can proceed to troubleshoot your browser. It might be due to cache-induced browsers that can affect the program's performance and hinder you from sending invoices to your clients. You can access your account using an incognito or private browser and check if the problem persists. You can follow the shortcut keys below:
If you can already send the emails successfully, you can clear your browser's cache to remove and fix your browser and start a clean slate.
On the other hand, if the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Support team to review your profile and pull up your account securely to isolate the cause of this issue. You can also follow up on the pending ticket you mentioned and provide you an update on it.
Furthermore, I'll attach this article for future reference to manage your invoices and other sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

There is nothing under subscriptions. This QBO file is for an bookkeeping firm and was told it was free. It is however asking me to put in debit or credit card info. Will this make the difference if I put this information in, and if so will it charge me a subscription fee?
Welcome to the Community, @pennywise77.
If you have active clients in your QuickBooks account, you can use QuickBooks for Accountants for free. QBOA won't charge you anything even if you provide them with your credit or debit card details when subscribing to the service. The information will only serve for billings and subscription.
You can also contact our customer support team to check your accounts to see if the clients' information is attached correctly to the QBOA firm. To do so, here's how:
If you want to manage your users in QuickBooks Online, you can visit this article for more information: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to contact us if you have other questions about why QBOA needs your card details. The Community space is always here to assist you.
Let me tell you the situation. I had a horrible experience migrating my firm from QBDT to QBO. The only option for me at that point was to set up an additional Intuit account and start fresh, this is why I have no clients associated with my firm, my firm's QBO is separate from my client's QBO. So I still feel no need to have to pay for a subscription if my experience warranted a new setup with no clients associated with it. What are my options?
Let me help you with your managing your clients with your accounting firm, pennywise77.
We'll need to subscribe first to QuickBooks Online Accountant where we can sign up for free. Just visit this link for more details: Intuit QuickBooks. Then, you can migrate the data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online Accountant: Import QuickBooks Desktop data into QuickBooks Online Accountant. You can also read more details about the migration here: Learn How Features and Data Move From QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
Once done, you can start adding your clients who already have QuickBooks Online or Self-Employed. Just ask them to invite you to become their accountant:
When accepting the invite, QuickBooks connects their accounts to your firm and adds them to your client list. You can now review and make edits to their books. If you can't connect, here's what to do if you can't accept their invitation. For other options on how to add clients, you can refer to this article: Add clients to QuickBooks Online Accountant.
To keep track of clients and update your client list, you can check out this article: Manage clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Let me know if you have any clarifications. I'm here to help enlighten them for you. Have a good one.
Please read the entire threads to know my initial problem of not being able to email out of my firms QBO. If I need a subscription to be able to email out of my QBO, I have no subscription on my separate QBO. I dont want my clients a part of my separate QBO because it caused a mess, with time keeping and other add ons.
Hi pennywise77,
It isn't the kind of experience we want you to come across.
To ensure your issue gets resolved in no time, I suggest reaching out to our phone support team so we can investigate this further. To do so, you can follow these steps:
Moreover, I've added this article as your guide to receiving invoice payments:
I'm just around whenever you have concerns about sending invoices.
Need to clarify your issue. Did you convert your own data from QB Desktop Accountant to QB Online or QB Online Accountant?
1) 1st migration of my firm from QBDT to QBO caused a mess in my original QBO accountant account. Duplicated customers/clients. Also created duplicates in my timekeeping.
2) QBO support had me migrate again from QBDT to QBO but into a new QBO Accountant account (with new intuit login) (with no clients associated.) Everything was set up from there( timekeeping/merchant account)
3) Now in the new QBO account I cannot send emailed invoices to my clients. I get a "Delivery Error", tried sending reminders but I get an error message that says I cannot send emails without some other subscriptions.
People responding to this post keep telling me to reach out to support, every time I do, support sees the ticket but says they are still working on it. They can't tell me when this will be fixed, so there is no use calling them.
Hi,
Did this ever get resolved? I'm having the same problem now and I can't seem to find a resolution. I've been on and off the phone and chat with agents at Intuit for over 2 days now.
This did get resolved for me. It took a couple of months as they escalated it up the chain. They did not tell me what they did to fix it, but I can now email out of QBO.
Im glad there is some resolution out there!! I got my case escalated one step today so maybe by March I'll be able to send invoices haha. Thanks for replying!
