enhanced payroll

I use QB desktop and enhanced payroll. I do the payroll for another company as well under the same subscription. I am the primary owner of the payroll subscription. We are retiring and need to transfer the ownership of the payroll subscription to the second EIN being used without losing any data. How can this be done?

Hi 577576,

 

I'm here to share some information about transferring a payroll account.

 

You'll have to update the EIN of the current payroll subscription to the other one. Here's how:

 

  1. From the Employees menu, select Payroll.
  2. Click Use My Existing Payroll Service.
  3. Under Identify Subscription, choose Use Subscription Number XXXXXXX [ Payroll Subscription Version ].
  4. If you don't see your subscription in the list, select Other: I have an existing subscription and a Zip Code
  5. Enter your information.
  6. Select Open, then click Next.
  7. When the Add Company Information window opens, select Next to add the company EIN.
  8. You may choose to Print or Return to QuickBooks Desktop.
  9. Verify the Service Key.

 

 

Afterward, you may opt to run payroll updates before creating your employee's paychecks to ensure that the changes were successful.
