entered customer Job not showing in Customer List

I entered a Job to my Customer List but it doesn't show...
if I do a search the job appears and when I double-click on it the Customer List opens but the Job is not there. Where is it or is there a flaw in the software??

To eventually add the new job, I had to rename a new one as a prompt comes up saying the job already exists... see attached screen capture.

No clue what's going on...

----------

Also, I entered another job to a customer but it created a New Customer not adding the job to the customer selected. That's another question if it happens again...

Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Hello, comoltd. I'm here to help get this sorted out.

You'll want to check if the Customer is marked inactive on your account. Inactive customers have an X mark beside their names.

Once verified that it's active, you can run the Verify/Rebuild tool utility to detect the data damage. It allows your QuickBooks software to refresh the data inside the company file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu and choose Utilities
  2. Click Verify Data, then click OK to close all windowsIf it says, "Your data has failed the integrity check" you need to rebuild your file.
  3. Navigate to the File menu, pick Utilities, then click Rebuild Data.
  4. Click on OK to close all windows
  5. Confirm to back up your company file.
  6. Hit OK once the rebuild is finished.

For more details about the process, please see this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Glinette,

I rebuilt the data as instructed but it still shows the same… I use MyTime and when I looked to add time PW-9501 Feb Projects was listed.

Once I rebuilt that option in MyTime is now gone and PW-9501 Feb project is showing in both QBs and MyTime - but the “projects disappeared from MyTime and Quickbooks

Now I can’t find the PW-9501 Feb projects…

When I double-click on the “found” PW-9501 Feb projects it opens the Customer List but does not appear - it is obviously in the data base somewhere… but can’t find it.

This is not good… ever since I upgraded from an older version I have had issues of sorts.

Good morning, @comoltd

I appreciate you coming back on this thread and letting us know how these steps worked for you.

Since those instructions didn't work, I recommend performing a reinstall on your QuickBooks for Mac using clean install. Here's how:

  1. Uninstall QuickBooks Mac Desktop
  2. Remove QuickBooks PLIST files.
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Reinstall QuickBooks.

For more details on how to do these steps, check out this guide: Reinstall QuickBooks for Mac using clean install. If this doesn't work, I suggest contact our Customer Support Team for further assistance.

I hope this helps. Reach back out and let us know how the everything goes. Have a wonderful day!
