Entering a bill with a discount for one item but not the other

- The US version of QuickBooks doesn't track sales tax on Bills.

- Also, it doesn't allow the use of discount items on Bills.

Generally, enter discounts on your bills on the Account tab, as a negative number. Usually that's all you need to do.

I have our vendor set up with a discount rate 1% by the 10th, but how do I get that to apply to only the material that we were billed for and not the sales tax?
