I can share some insights about the formatting of reports in QuickBooks.
Predefined reports have a default setting for column sizes. Currently, the available option is manually expanding the width of the columns.

I already sent your idea directly to our engineers. I encourage you to do the same by filling out our feedback form:
- Click the Help menu bar.
- Scroll down to Send Feedback Online.
- Select Product Suggestion.
- Choose Product Suggestion for the Type of Feedback.
- Product Area is optional.
- Enter your suggestion.
- Click Send Feedback.
