Export file for online

I have gone through the whole process of updating my desktop quickbooks to the latest version. When I try to export my file to transfer to online it tells me I need to update the software. It will not allow me to go forward. I have downloaded the latest updates and installed. When I press CTRL 1 I can see the version is R4_85. Version used on file V31 OU R4 23/08/2021

How can I progress and export the company file to use online?

Version 31 is QuickBooks 2021 or Enterprise 21.0.  They're still supported by Intuit, so it's odd that you're being told they're too old.

Perhaps it is referring to the release of the version, as you only have R4, release 4. The latest release of QuickBooks 2021 is R12.

You can download and then install it from this page:  https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products

Welcome, and I appreciate your interest in using QuickBooks products, @LaRegina. I'll provide some information about your current version and the release update.

To clarify, may I know your QuickBooks Desktop version and edition? This will help us determine if you're using the updated ones.

Here are the current releases for each QuickBooks Desktop version:

Let's manually update your company file one more time. To proceed, follow the steps below:

  1. Close your company files and QuickBooks.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Search for QuickBooks Desktop. Right-click the icon and select Run as administrator.
  4. While on the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and click Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  5. Go to the Options tab. Select Mark All, then click Save.
  6. Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
  7. When you're ready, press Get Updates.

@LaRegina

Where is your company located? UK or another country?

I am based in the UK and I have updated to the last version which is R4

I have even reinstalled Quickbooks to ensure it's all up to date

I tried to install the US version but it would not accept my licence and product code

I have no idea what else to try

I'm based in the UK and there are no other releases

I am unable to install the US version because it does not recognise my licence No and product code

I have even tried to reinstall the UK version but I still have the same problem

@LaRegina

They have disabled the built-in conversion feature in QBD UK and you will have to use the service provided by MMB. Unfortunately, there are some limitations

If you need to convert data with specific requirements (e.g multi currency, attachments, jobs), you can purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
