Join nowEarlier today I logged into this community support for the first time to ask a question. Shortly after I got a call from someone at intuit claiming that they saw me log in and wanted to know if they could answer questions for me. I said yes -- they asked me some questions about what version of QB I had and said someone would call back.
Someone called back. I explained my QB question they said it would help if they could access me computer to see what I'm seeing. I did this a few weeks ago with a QB rep so I said sure. I logged into logmein123.com and they gave me the code.
I started to feel nervous because I hadn't called them. And then realized they could actually control my mouse. The lady a few weeks ago could see my screen but had to tell me what to click. They started to click on stuff and said I needed to redo my file and I said no log off and shut down my computer. They said they were logging off and hung up basically.
I called intuit and the guy checked my account and said it looked good but I should call my bank. He also said he showed no call from intuit. Only the one a few weeks ago -- so obviously fraud. Just wanted to give a heads up if anyone has this done to them. I feel so dumb for falling for this, but have not had any experience with this forum. It was my first time actually logging in and I am not sure how a hacker would have that info unless they are hacked into this website to see when a new use logins?
