Join nowWe use group items as part of our inventory & quoting and have created many groups to make quotes. With that, is there a way to edit and/or group items once they have been created? Right now, once a group has been created, if we want to make any changes, we have to do the entire group all over again, which is very not user friendly. Editing group items is something we need to do regularly (as new items come in, change or become discontinued) and the entire process is very cumbersome, to say the least.
I’m glad to share information with you about modifying group items in QuickBooks, @DLeblond.
After you create an item, you can edit information about it at any time. If you want to make some changes, you don’t need to redo the entire group. QuickBooks provides options to meet your business needs.
You can follow the outlined steps below to edit group items in QuickBooks Desktop:
Please know that this process can be done per group. That means you need to edit each group to apply the changes in the program.
I’ve also added this reference to help you learn more about how to manage items in QBDT. This includes frequently asked questions with its answers to give you insights about items.
I’ll be here if you have additional questions or concerns about group items. Just let me know, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Take care and have a great day!
I tried your suggestion, but doing that is very not user friendly. The box to edit is extremely small and if I want to add an item, it goes to the bottom. After that, I am unable to move it up to where I would like it in the list. I have many grouped items of 20 or more items in each group, but am only able to see a few lines at a time. This makes any kind of editing difficult to impossible.
