Have been sending invoices & estimates from QB's for years and am presently unable to do so. When attempting to sign into yahoo email account I receive message..."Incorrect Credentials or Gmail Settings"

Have been sending invoices & estimates from QB's for years and am presently unable to do so. When attempting to sign into my yahoo email account I receive this message..."Incorrect Credentials or Gmail Settings".  What might I do to get past this so I can continue to email out of QB's?

Let's configure your email preferences, CPen86.

 

This way, we can successfully email your invoices and estimates.

 

The error usually occurs when the email settings weren't properly configured and set up in QuickBooks Desktop. Either something wasn't entered correctly or the Internet Service Provider was changed.

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Go to Preferences, then choose Send Forms.
  3. Under the My Preferences tab, click Edit email (Edit Email info window will pop-up).
  4. From the Email Provider drop-down menu, select Yahoo instead of OTHERS.
  5. In the Server Name field, enter the correct server.
  6. In the Port field, type in the correct one.
  7. Check the SSL/TLS tick box, then click OK to save the changes.

I did receive help with this on Tuesday, 3-2-21, and after the session I was able to successfully email invoices from QB's again.  However, yesterday and again today I have attempted to do so and once again received the message...."Incorrect credentials or Gmail settings.  This is very disappointing, as I thought this issue had been resolved.  I do need additional help with this.

I want to make sure this issue stops reoccurring so you can get back to working order.

 

Firstly, let's ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated. This way, you'll have the latest release features and fixes. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu, then select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select the Update Now tab.
  3. Put a checkmark to the Reset Update checkbox and click Get Updates to start the download.
  4. Wait until the download finishes, then restart QuickBooks.
  5. Accept the option to install the new release.

 

Once done, let's re-setup the email information in the Preferences. Please be guided by the steps below:

 

  1. Go to the Edit menu, then select Preferences.
  2. Select Send Forms.
  3. In the My Preferences tab, click Edit email. Make sure to use the correct credentials.
  4. Select the email provider from the drop-down.
  5. Enter the correct server name, then type the Port in the field.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

 

After resetting it up, you can try sending the invoices or estimates again to double-check.

 

If you get the same result, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again. This way, they can further investigate this matter and provide the best resolution to get this fixed permanently.

This really does not help as quickbooks does not allow you to change information once a yahoo address ahs been entered 

smtp.mail.yahoo.com

port 456 which should be 587 for SSL
