Having trouble with custom form styles. address is displayed incorrectly and I can only use default form for invoicing

A warm welcome to the Community, arbmarkevans.

For invoice template customization, QuickBooks Online offers different default styles to make your sales forms presentable and unique.

If you wish to use a different layout form for your invoice, you can look for a third-party application that can integrate with QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. From the left pane, click on Apps.
  3. Search for apps in the search box.

QuickBooks displays the list of applications available that matches the description you entered. Once you find the right app, click on it to open.

You can also visit this link for a better view: https://apps.intuit.com/. From there, you can find different apps that are compatible and designed to work with QuickBooks Online.

For your references, you can take a look at the following write-up to help guide you with utilizing your invoice template in QuickBooks Online as well as on what other information you can add: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to get back to me if you have any additional invoice concerns or anything with QuickBooks. I'll be more than willing to lend you a hand. Have a good one.

Having trouble with custom form styles. address is displayed incorrectly and I can only use default form for invoicing

Thanks RoseMarjorieA

My pdf invoices have errors in the address. I think it must be a glitch because when I go back and re-customise the form I put it all the address details in correctly but on the invoice my address still comes up with the error.

The other problem I have is that I am unable to switch to other templates than the default, such as i would want to for commercial customers rather than domestic.

Many thanks for your time in this!

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to sort this out, @arbmarkevans.

First, let's access your QuickBooks account using a private browser or an incognito browser. This way, we can isolate if this is browser-related. You may use either of these browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once logged in, let's try using a different invoice template and recreate your invoice from the estimate. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear Icon.
  2. Choose the Customs Form Style.
  3. Go to the New Style button.
  4. Select Invoice.
  5. Choose the Design tab.
  6. Enter the name of the Invoice Template.
  7. Click on Change up the Template.
  8. Select any invoice template except Airy Classic.
  9. Click Done

Now, let's try creating your invoice.

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Select All Sales tab.
  3. Look for an estimate that you need to send an invoice.
  4. Click Create Invoice link.
  5. Choose How much do you want to invoice?
  6. Click Create Invoice button.
  7. Review the invoice details.
  8. Click on customize link at the bottom portion of the page.
    1. Select the Invoice Template you've created a while ago.
    2. Choose Print or Preview

If it works successfully, you can clear the cache or delete temporary internet files from your regular browser. That'll remove previously-stored browsing data that might have caused the issue. Here's a complete guide on how to do that: How Do I Clear My Browser Cache And Temporary Internet Files?
