High DPI scaling issues fixed in QB desktop yet?

I'm still running QB pro 2017 - and doing that hanky High-dpi scaling issue workaround for 4k monitors in order to be able to read the text in the program.  Has it been fixed in newer versions of the desktop app?  Overriding high-dpi scaling helps, but there's still areas of the register where the date extends past the window etc and is just a hanky-janky work around anyways... but I've learned long ago to not assume that it's safe to assume by buying the new releases that bugs are fixed in newer versions of the software by intuit engineers.

High DPI scaling issues fixed in QB desktop yet?

Thanks for visiting the Community,@OzarkCDN. I appreciate you for doing the workaround of fixing the High DPI scaling issues.

QuickBooks Desktop is designed to work with Windows DPI with a normal setting of 96dpi. Hence, regardless if you're using the newer version of QuickBooks, if the setting goes higher than 96, then unexpected results like these can still happen:

  • Missing buttons
  • Transactions and columns that can't fit the screen
  • Blank Home Page

Changing the display settings and adjusting your view preferences in QuickBooks will fix this type of issue. Refer to this article: Fix  screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop

Also, keeping your software updated will also give you the latest features and fixes bugs. For your reference, check out this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release

I'm also adding an article that will help you resolve QuickBooks Desktop performance issues:Manage your computers. It helps you learn about how to boost the performance of your QuickBooks Desktop.

Thanks... but frankly, that's just lazy engineering.  So many screens these days are above 96dpi, and have been for years - I can't think of another common app in 2020 that hasn't changed their engine to scale properly to windows dpi settings that been there since maybe windows 8?

I agree with Ozark. This is extremely lazy of Intuit. The resolution on my new ThinkPad is so high that Windows is scaling text to 200% in order to make it comfortable to read. I don't have issues with the display on any other programs except Quickbooks. I would really appreciate it if this could be fixed in future versions of the software - especially given that we are required to purchase a new version every few years.

Of course not.  I'll bet they won't until it hurts their bottom line.

Well, hilariously, after how many years, still no better.  Thankfully I was able to just install a trial of Enterprise 22 for plenty long enough to get my taxes done this year, but no, QB is still dragging along defective HPI scaling and doesn't offer anything I need that wasn't in QB '99.  Except a subscription.  Oh wait, not interested in that either.  Subscription to keep paying someone to tell you your product is up to date and continual upselling innovations.

So true sometimes the more they put into this product the worse it gets. I have been with Intuit products since its inception and have noticed that ever since.
