Is it possible to add a hyperlink to my outgoing invoices? I’d like a hyperlink to our website and our socials. The only thing I’ve found is how to add a url, even though the QB expert keeps calling it a hyperlink.
Hello, windyl0u.
Adding a hyperlink to your website and socials to outgoing invoices is a good customization setup. For the time being, the option to do so is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll gladly share more details about this below and guide you with alternatives you can do to publish your business.
You can enter your website and social URLs in the Website or Message to customer field or add them as a footer text instead of hyperlinking them to your outgoing invoices. To do this, here's how:
You can learn more about adding specific information to your sales forms through this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Also, you can send reminders (automatically or manually) to customers when your invoices are, or soon to be, overdue. If you wish to know how to do this in QBO, please see this article: Send invoice reminders automatically or manually in QuickBooks Online.
If you have other concerns about customizing sales forms in QBO, please let me know in the comments below. I'm always ready to help. Take care, windyl0u.
When I log in on my mobile browser, it gives me the option to add my socials, but when I do it, the wheel just keeps spinning. Why is it giving an option when you’re saying it’s not an option? No one at that company seems to know anything about their actual products.
Let's ensure you can add a hyperlink to your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), windyl0u.
In QBO, rather than embedding social media buttons in the body of sales forms, you can add clickable hyperlinks to the email message portion of invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.
Including clickable hyperlinks such as "like us on Facebook" or "follow us on Instagram" in invoice email messages is an easy method to maintain a connection with your customers. It allows you to expand your brand's visibility without extra marketing expenses. By doing so, you can distinguish between branding and business aspects, ensuring they are not overshadowed by invoice details. In short, keep the actual invoice form focused on business.
There are two methods to modify the messages sent to customers when they receive an invoice. Firstly, you can include your branded messaging as part of the default message. Alternatively, create a custom template specifically for certain customer base segments.
Here's how:
To generate a personalized template with specific social media links for segmented customers, you can utilize the instructions provided by my colleague above.
Additionally, ensure that your mobile device has a reliable internet connection. If the issue persists, you can opt to use your computer as an alternative.
Let me know if you have more questions about managing your invoices or need help with another task. I'll be right here to help you out some more. Have a good day ahead!
Everyone knows how to copy and paste a link. But it's cheap and looks tacky. You would think intuit would be able to create an embedded link. You're still not answering me as to why it's showing that as an option in the mobile browser if you guys are saying it's not an option at all.
I totally agree, I want to add my terms and conditions embedded hyperlink on the message body of the invoice email or on the invoice itself in the footer. So tacky
looks like they are not interested in these topics
If you are running a service company, consider having a proposal management app to integrate with QBO.
Yeah it's pretty impressive that Intuit hasn't found a way for their customers to imbed links in text within invoices. We have a handful of links we'd like to hyperlink within our invoices, but we are required to paste the entire link which makes the invoice come off as poorly put together.... I'm sure plenty of people would benefit from this feature being added, it's unfortunate that Intuit is content with their current "workaround". I'd be nice to know if this is on the radar or coming soon, but in the meantime It'll just have to be considered a downside to using QBO.

I would like to add a link to review us on google. I made a shortened url in GOLinks App. Is the intent of this article to say that customers will be able to click on the hyperlink to go to an external site in the email body? or is the intent that they can just copy and paste url?
Hi there, Sarah-AWM.
I'd like to answer your questions on embedding a link to your invoices so your customers can send you a review.
Adding a link to an invoice allows your customers to easily access an external site by simply clicking on the link. To ensure that your customers can use the link, make sure to select the correct template when sending the invoice to your customers.
To verify that the link is functional, you can send a dummy invoice to yourself. Then, double-check that the link works. It should appear as a differently colored text with an underline. Just remember to delete the dummy invoice after to avoid messing up your records.
To help you with customizing your sales forms, I'm sharing an article with you that covers the topic in detail: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions or require additional assistance with invoicing in QuickBooks or customizing your sales forms. I'm happy to help in any way that I can.
Another option, you can use a reputation management app to integrate with QBO. (unfortunately) It starts from $75/month.
