How can I remove the advertising pop-ups

You can't.  They are there for the long haul.

Someone will be along shortly to make it out like it's not that bad, and you can just "click the X or "No Thanks" and it goes away. (Not telling you that it always comes RIGHT back.

You can try using a pop-up blocker.  Sometimes that helps.

Good luck.

How can I remove the advertising pop-ups

As of the moment, there's no way to completely disable ads from popping up, ctomblin.

As a workaround, you can enable the pop-up blocker in your browser. Here's how:

  1. Select the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  2. Click Site settings (Google Chrome) or Permission for this site (Mozilla browser).
  3. Hover to the Pop-ups and redirects section, and hit Block from the drop-down menu.

For Safari:

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Select Safari, then click Preferences.
  3. Select Websites at the top
  4. Click Pop-up Windows on the left sidebar
  5. Then hit Block in the pop-up menu for the website.

How can I remove the advertising pop-ups

How dare Intuit spam its paying customers with ads ALL DAY LONG!! Who else does this? No one. I am a paying customer and dont want to see these ads. Dismissing them does nothing because as soon as I return to the same screen they re-appear. ALL DAY LONG. Every day, all day, dozens and dozens of times a day. This is outrageous and completely unacceptable. Yet one more example proving that the Intuit developers and decision makers don't actually use their own software or listen to people who do. If they did they would not publish such garbage software.

(Yes I turned on Chrome's pop up blocker for QBO's site and also installed my own. Neither eliminated these offensive, annoying and never ending ads for products I'm not interested in and have already told Intuit I'm not interested in them by dismissing them the first 100 times.)

I should not have to find a way to turn off an add posing as a tutorial. This should not pop up every time I try to do something I do on a daily basis, I clearly know what I am doing....

How can I remove the advertising pop-ups

Arrgggh!!  I was hoping someone would have a tip here but no luck.

It is infuriating that Intuit is charging $90/month for this subscription and then incessantly spams customers with advertisting/promotions complete with annoying clip art.  These are worse than pop ups (and ad blockers wont stop them) more like banner ads and they take up like 20% of the screen real estate I'm trying to use to review registries and reports!  I've seen other apps use pop up advertising on loading, but as far as I can remember you have an option to check "do not show me this anymore" and it is honored.

So what do you say Intuit?  Give us the option?  I am never in one thousand years going to need your payroll services, tho I have recommended it as an option to clients -- but I'm really thinking of not doing that, or recommending QB at all.

If you use firefox with adblocker ultimate you can click the adblocker and in drop down choose block element, then select the item and choose to block it. This if done on each and every annoying thing will add up and in time you should not be bothered much if at all!. This is what I do and it works for me mostly. GL.

Thanks for that!  I have uBlock Origin but never thought to explore those specific options.  I can use "pick element" and block out the pop box area.  It seems to be working pretty good -- tho as you say, like cockroaches, these will take a while to completely (if thats possible) eliminate.

It's IDIOTIC that we'd need to 'hack' via external (browser, other) programs and settings to get rid of these. We paid for the software, we just want to USE the software - without false, annoying impediments.

There should be a way to permanently remove these advertisements, particularly those of QB Online - there are many REASONS that Quickbooks Desktop users don't want to use the Online version, not the least of which is the fact that the program (and features) aren't the same!

How can I remove the advertising pop-ups

Using third party ad-blocker plug-in (like Ublock Origin, etc.) is the only option at this time which works.

Any ad-blocker which supports blocking selected page element would work. In Ublock Origin function called "Element zapper mode" and it does exactly that, once you zap the element it does not reappear.

It is very easy to do and after few days of use did not pose any side effects.

Needless to say that this is ridiculous to be the official solution from the QBO support team (as I was told today) and a sign of neglected software product - happens almost always with dominant market position...

Heya Dima.

Thanks for your reply.  I did end up using exactly that Ublock function (I admit I didnt know it existed before) and it has worked well.  Hopefully other frustrated QBO users will see this and act accordingly.
