Buy nowYes, most banks usually send the security codes to the phone number associated with your bank account, lexxa.
If you no longer have access to that phone number, I'd recommend reaching out to Cardmember Services support. They can assist you in updating your information.
After updating your information, go back to QuickBooks and try connecting your bank again. The security code should now be sent to the updated phone number.

Thanks for the reply, James.
I am able to receive the code. The issue is that I don't know where to input the code to allow QBO to connect.
This is for a new credit card that I am trying to link. QBO must have reached the bank, because I received the code. But QBO just appears to time out with the connection to the bank and says to try again later. When I press the button that says 'Report Issue', I do get a response back from QBO saying that the issue is resolved, but the same thing happens on the next attempt.
A related question is: does this mean I need to be available with the code every time QBO tries to automatically update the account (assuming the link can be made in the first place)?
Thanks for any help.
We can perform basic troubleshooting steps to link your credit card in QuickBooks, Lexxa.
Let's start by clearing the cache. It resolves issues such as page loading errors or formatting problems. If the issue persists, consider using a different supported browser.
Once it works, follow the steps below to connect your credit card account.
Once the transactions are downloaded, you can categorize and reconcile them to match your bank and credit card statements.
If you have additional questions, reach out to us. We will assist you right away.
Thanks for the reply.
I cleared the Firefox cache (using the latest version 139) as directed and restarted, but I'm not able to get past Step 5.
Then I tried Microsoft Edge browser which I've never used with QBO, but with the same results.
I'm not able to connect to the bank, because I get a window in QBO that says the bank needs more information to sign in, which is the security code sent to my phone. But QBO does not prompt me to enter that security code and then it closes the connection.
How do I give the security code to QBO?
Thanks.

In this case, I suggest connecting with our chat or phone support teams as the next best option. They have the required system access to investigate why you're not seeing the window to input the verification code.
