Greetings, @missandrea4color. You can manually classify transactions or batch reclassify them using the Accountant version of QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the option to batch reclassify is unavailable. You can only manually update the category for misclassified transactions. Here’s how:
- Go to the Accounting menu and select Bank Transactions.
- Select the specific account and click on the Categorized tab.
- In the Category section, select the specific transaction and manually update it to the correct category.
If you want to batch reclassify the categories to the correct ones, you can use the Accountant version of QBO or ask your accountant for assistance. Here’s how:
- Go to the Gear icon or Settings and select Reclassify Transactions.
- Choose the appropriate Account types and basis. Then, select the correct Account for the misclassified transactions.
- Filter the transactions by date and select the specific transactions you want to reclassify. Then, click Reclassify.
- From the Change account to drop-down menu, select the correct Category or Account.
- Optionally, update the class or location, and then click Apply.
