Similar. For us, it covers the amount received field, which you can imagine is .... unimaginable for a billing and accounting software.
FWIW, if you have the uBlock Origin browser extension, you can right-click on the ads and "block element" - do this enough times and it'll make the ads go away.
The adds I’m seeing are in-app not browser popups.
There's actually no way to close or collapse the banner at the top that's currently trying to upsell me on QuickBooks Payroll Premium. This truly is unacceptable. It takes up screen real-estate and there's no official way to make it go away unless I sign up. On smaller screens, it impedes the workflow and usability of the application.
What I'm seeing right now is a teal-green bar at the top of the application that says "Save more, get more. Enjoy 70% off QuickBooks Payroll Premium for 3 months.* Get Payroll Premium" -- there is no "X" or even a "Maybe Later" option to collapse the banner and reclaim the vertical space on my monitor.
Actually, there is no X or "No Thanks" to click on.
I am on the same boat with the original person's entry. The "helpful" pop ups are annoying and actually hinder productivity. i have grown tired of software companies that build in popups that try to sell additional features and don't care enough to let us opt out.
Kevin Aaker
If the "not currently available" was not so annoying, as is the popup offers to help, I would be amused. I am not amused.
SOOOOO, from July 2021 to March 2023 NOTHING has been done to allow us to mute these ANNOYING pop up ads for upsells on your QB Online products?
I DO NOT NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR QUICKBOOKS BANKING every time I create a check.
The extra clicks running a busy business is ANNOYING.
Hasn't the HUNDREDS OF MESSAGES gotten this through to developers?
Why isn't there an option to say "NO THANKS" and have it disappear FOREVER like normal software????
Looking for a new accounting software after only 3 weeks.
Your response is 100% incorrect. Please listen to what we, the users, are saying. I've clicked "I'm done" or "x" or "close" and every time I switch between screens they come back. I do not need a tutorial, or a step through of what the register is. Make this crap stop. I have pop-ups disabled/blocked in my Safari settings. This does NOT stop the stupid Intuit "hey, buy this other feature", "hey, take a tutorial", "hey, let me guide you" from popping up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I switch between areas in QuickBooks online. It makes getting work done take almost twice as long to have to click this crap closed so I can actually see my data. Want to see what it looks like? I'm happy to screen share and show you.
There is no X to exit out. The window is larger than my screen, so the X is not able to be accessed
it is blocking my use of quickbooks because of this advertising. I actually use Quickbooks desktop and it
is trying to sell me some online cloud or something like that. It irritates me that I cannot seem to exit out of this drivel. It is blocking my regular use of the Quickbooks program.
I was able to drop and drag the window to correct size and found the X.
There is still an advertisement that has a choice to look at it or "later." Later
does not engage and it won't close.
As someone who gives Quickbooks a lot of money, I find this absolutely unacceptable. There needs to be a feature or an ability to turn off the popups. The popups are constant. Often it is the same popups I have declined just the day before!
Go to Page 1 of this problem .... I just followed the prompts installing and configuring AdBlocker and took care of my annoying popups!
Thank you, Rootwork IT! One less annoyance in my life
QBO needs to find a different way to notify users of available upgrades that doesn't constantly interrupt the workflow. We pay you a lot of money to help us save time. The time wasting pop-ups go against your very purpose for existing. I'm ok with seeing what features are available, but they need to be kept limited to the page level so that we see them, but are note forced to acknowledge them to use the software. We pay you to help make our business more efficient, not to try to sell us more services.
This doesn't work. I thinks its because the website changes when you go into a transaction.
This is a terrible solution since you have to do it every single time you go into a transaction.
I hate quick books! Their attitude has shifted from providing great software at a good price to locking us in and then ripping us off. Management is totally faithless and untrustworthy.
That is incorrect JamaicaA. I hit the X button on every single ad or "help" it gives me and I have not seen it lessen at all. I can understand the ads if it were a free version. But I pay for this software I don't need more ads to pop up trying to get me to buy more! When I am trying to enter a new customer and I constantly have to move from my keyboard to my mouse to click that stupid X it now infuriates me. How is this not a violation to not allow us to unsubscribe? Every email advertisement we get there is an unsubscribe button. I'm going to be searching elsewhere for an accounting program and I've been using Quickbooks since 2003 that's how mad I am about this. Get it together Quickbooks this is ridiculous
If there is no way to disable these ads, our company is shopping for a new accounting system. Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.
AMEN! While they are at it we DO NOT NEED THE QB added verbiage on the credit card receipts!
I know they are not, but QB SHOULD BE ASHAMED! Eventually they will be out of business, due to legal issues that are headed their way due to the lack of support by paying customers and the abuse customers must put up with. If the software were free, we could not complain. BUT paying the outrageous cost every year and receiving their sloppy, clueless support - that's thievery!
Every time you close an ad, click on the cog icon and send feed back to the effect of "Closed an ad". It is reasonable that if we have to close an ad every 5 seconds, they should hear about it.
Thanks, Chris-daupler-Co: Unfortunately, between getting BOOTED OUT numerous times a day and dealing with this garbage, it is sooo extremely Frustrating! I have a job to do and QB has become more of a hindrance than a help. It is similar to Mob Extortion…QB demands money and forced upgrades - the only difference is we don’t get anything for our money.
BUT that being said I will add this to my daily tasks because QB sucks!
It appears QuickBooks continue to ignore us all on this support forum. I guess its time for us to start posting on Google reviews and Trustpilot.
You say that we can simply close the pop-up but they are on EVERY SINGLE SCREEN NOW. Your software is already clunky and painfully slow (especially the online version we're all stuck with now). I do NOT need one extra click on every single screen. You are impeding us, not helping us. We're paying you to help us. Blocking the pop-ups in chrome doesn't work. This is Intuit's problem to solve. You paid engineers to add all of these pop-ups, TAKE THEM AWAY. Don't act like there's nothing you can do. Yes I left feedback. I am now waiting on solutions.
You are unable to take away the ads that INTUIT PUT THERE?! Holy cow, your engineers are only capable of making BAD changes to the software? It's only going to get worse until Intuit goes out of business?
