How do I disable Intuit Data Protect?

I've tried to create this ticket 3 times now, so sorry if this is short

We use Local backups, we don't need Online Backups. Everything I see in Quickbooks Pro 2022 tells me we're not running online backups but every day we log in there is a message saying that our backups are out of date. How do I disable/remove Intuit Data Protect from this new version? We never want to see these alerts again!

How do I disable Intuit Data Protect?

Thanks for sharing your Intuit Data Protect (IDP)concern with the Community, @DarthNO2.

You can disable the Intuit Data Protect by removing them from the Start folder. Just make sure that your QuickBooks is updated to the latest release so you always have the latest features and fixes.

Here's how to disable them:

To Remove Intuit Data Protect from the Startup folder.

  • Windows 10, 8.1 and 8
  1. Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
  2. Right-click Intuit Data Protect and click Delete.
  • Windows 7
  1. Click the Windows logo.
  2. Go to Startup Folder.
  3. Right-click Intuit Data Protect and click Delete.

Once done, restart your computer, and the Intuit Data Protect should no longer launch. For detailed instruction, see this article: Disable Intuit Data Protect. It also contains steps if you have active subscription to Intuit Data Protect.

On top of that, I've also included these references in case you have questions about Intuit Data Protect and how to free some back up space in QuickBooks:
