How the heck are we supposed to see this?

This is not the only screen in QB Desktop that opens so small with no way to make it full screen that a magnifying glass is necessary just to complete the task.  Yes, there is a tint button on the upper left of 1099 wizard and there is a choice to maximize but this is a really ignorant way to present necessary information, to begin with. And my second screenshot has no indication of any way to enlarge the list. This is 2020 and 20-20 isn't enough as  a person needs Superman's X-ray vision to do our work2020-01-15.png2020-01-15 (1).png

I have two options on how to resize or maximize the screen, john-pero.

First, in the 1099 Wizard window, at the upper-right, click the drop-down arrow and select Maximize. Second, you can also resize the screen according to the display you need.

I'll use your screenshot and I'll box the options I mentioned.

If you still see display issues, reach out to our team. We can help you with your display settings. Thanks!

Yes, thank you but I already had discovered that. It just seems that a window like this should open full screen by default. It is akin to the date selection drop down in reports always opening narrow which hides the actual selections (try it and please tell me how to have that menu option open at its full size every time - I doubt you can)

The help menu in desktop is no better.  It opens miniaturized and the x to close button is always hidden and the only way to close it is to drag the help screen into the center of the page.

Add to this the report of changes when updating payroll (which miniaturized window cannot be skipped as the only option is "okay" to view changes)
