How to edit items in bulk

So recently an entire line of product (over 500 items) has changed vendors and I would like to update that in our inventory. The only way I've found so far to edit these is to do it to each item individually... is there a way to edit them all at once?

How to edit items in bulk

Good day, @tgm2020,

The option to edit or update items by bulk is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Point of Sale. You’ll want to modify them individually.

I recommend exporting them to Excel as a workaround, so you can easily update the details. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the File menu, then Utilities.
  2. Choose Export.
  3. Select the Inventory Items or the list you want to modify and then hit Next.
  4. Enter the needed data in the following fields: Location where the file will be saved, worksheet and the row where the data started.
  5. You can select "manually manage the mapping" to ensure the details are matched.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Validate if the records ready for export, then select Export.

To import back to the system, you can refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale: Import and Export overview. It has a step-by-step- process on how to get this done.

I'm just a few clicks away if you need more help with QuickBooks. Take care and stay safe.
