When you receive banking Error 108, it means there's a message from your bank or credit card on their website. Messages, especially ones about updates, can block the connection to QuickBooks.
Since you didn't receive any message from your financial institution, I'd suggest to perform a manual update. This will refresh the connection between your financial institution and QuickBooks.
