I am here to share some insights into why your payments via Zelle are showing on 1099 in QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP).
It is important to know that payments to 1099 vendors made via credit card, debit card, or third-party systems, such as PayPal and Zelle, are excluded from the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC calculations.
Regarding your concern, ensure that your payment method is correct and make sure to put a word Zelle in your check number field to exclude the transactions from your 1099 calculations.
Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference in preparing your 1099 in QBOP: Prepare and file Federal 1099s using QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to return to this post if you have other concerns regarding filing your 1099 in QuickBooks Online Payroll. I'm here to help you in any way I can.
I think your rep reply offering a solution was based on the fact that maybe I had not already entered the transaction. however, my transactions that were showing up on my 1090 99 Took Pl. in the first six months of 2023. I did try to go back and edit the transaction and put in Zelle instead of a check number however, they still showed up on the 1099. I haven't received any replies or found any solutions to when those transactions are on the 1099 and they should not be what to do.
So I did speak with the live bookkeeping department, and the QuickBooks representative told me to delete the transactions in that were showing up in prepare 1099. Which I did I asked her what was going to happen to those that I deleted as she had advised, and she did not give me an answer. She walked me through the rest of the 1099 to be sure it was going to present properly on the form and it did and then she said she had to go real quickly and she would call me back. So she did not call me back . And now I need to figure out how to correct my P&L and my balance sheet from the transaction she told me to change. Thank you for your time and replying, Marilyn
