How to overwrite tax for bill

Hello there, @razie.

Let me share some insights about utilizing the tax feature when creating bills in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let's also send feedback or product recommendations to help improve your experience while using the said option.

For the time being, the option to overwrite the tax for the entire bill is unavailable in QBO. When you enter an item, the system won't automatically mark it as taxable. You'll have to manually select the box under the Tax column to indicate that it's taxable or subject to tax.

On the other hand, I can see how the benefit of being able to overwrite the tax for the entire bill would aid you in managing your transactions (expenses) with QBO. With this, I would encourage you to send suggestions or product recommendations. We take them as opportunities to improve the various features of our products.

Your valuable feedback will be reviewed by our Product Development team and will help improve your experience while using the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Also, you may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in using different reports and projections to get a closer look at your current and future finances in QBO: Track your cash flow in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other feature concerns or questions about managing bills and expense transactions in QBO. I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @razie.

Thanks for the answer. It's amazing not to have this time saving feature, after so many years. So, cancelling the trial and back to Excel for me.
