How to write and print a check?

It's nice to see you here in the Community forum, @rdpmac37. It's my pleasure to guide you in writing and printing a check in QuickBooks Online.

You can go to the +New icon and choose the Check feature. From there, you can create your checks and print them directly in QuickBooks. Let me guide you through the process:

  1. Go to + New, then select Check.
  2. From the Payee ▼ dropdown, select who you want to address the check to.
  3. From the Bank Account  dropdown, select the account you want the money to come from.
  4. Fill out the rest of the fields accordingly.
  5. Then, choose to print it now or later.
  • Print now - Select Print check. If you choose this option, QuickBooks will save the check and redirect you to the Print Checks page.
  • Print later - Select the Print later checkbox. This option adds the check to the print queue where you can enter the check number and print all your checks at once.
  • Select Save and Close.

You can also configure your print settings for either standard or voucher checks. These are the compatible checks from Intuit. Here's how to print checks that you’ve already recorded in QuickBooks:

  1. Select + New and Print checks.
  2. Load your checks into the printer.
  3. Select the checking account that you created the check from the drop-down ▼.
  4. In the Starting check no. field, enter the check number of the first check in the printer.
  5. Click the checkbox next to each check you want to print.
  6. Choose Preview and print.
  7. If everything is correct, select Print.
  8. If your checks print correctly, select Done.
