I can log into the program. But the program seems to be running but I can not see it. it is in the task bar but nothing happens. If I try to log in again the system says it is still running. What to do? ihave rebooted the CPU.

Which QB Desktop year version and Windows OS do you run?

Are you running QB Desktop as single user on your own machine?

Welcome to the Community, @vcptown.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to sort out this issue with your QuickBooks Desktop program.

If you are referring to a program that appears on the taskbar but does not open on the screen, have you checked if it is only pinned? It might be pinned but not open. One way to confirm if it is open is to see if the icon is highlighted.

Also, we can utilize the Maximize or Move in the Windows taskbar. Thus, this method is only valid for programs that are not full-screen. Additionally, you can use the Show open windows option in the taskbar when an application is open but not visible. Here's how:

  1. Right-click the blank area in the taskbar and select Show the Desktop.
  2.  Then right-click a space on the taskbar to select Show open windows.

If the issue persists after trying out various fixes, I recommend reaching out to an IT professional. They know the best process to fix this.

For future reference, this article might be handy in fixing problems if you can't open your QBDT: QuickBooks Desktop won't open.

I'm still ready to back you up if you need more help with the QBDT program. I'll keep the thread open so you can comment back.
