The steps for resetting passwords in QuickBooks are different for admins and non-admins.
Here's how to reset an admin's password:
- From your Password field, click the Lock icon. You'll see a pop-up menu listing recovery email addresses.
- Choose an email address you have access to.
- Select OK.
- You'll receive an email from Intuit that will guide you through the process of creating a new password.
Here's how to reset a non-admin's password:
- Sign in to your company file as the admin.
- In your top menu bar, go to Company, then User and Passwords.
- Choose a user you're working with and click the Edit option.
- Use your Lock icon, then enter the new password.
- Select Save.
If you're unable to reset a password with the steps above, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
