Buy nowI need help with signing into one of my companies. We have many companies and most have two logins, me (admin) and my boss. Since I recently installed QB2020, every time I login it would tell me he needs to login once for security. I didn't have time to do that, so I just ignored the message for a while. Yesterday I had time so I was logging in as him and resetting the password as it required. (New QB has way too many login requirements now, it is annoying)
These are companies that he doesn't use or ever log into. I had him set up just in case or whatever.
I got to this one account and I'm not even sure that I ever did have him set up on it, but I cannot remember the "current password" so I cannot get past this screen. I cannot even get anywhere that I can login to this company as Admin. I'm stuck and do not know what to do.
Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this??? I've spent way too much time already and am getting very frustrated.
Thanks for sharing the details with me, @Mary_W.
I also appreciate the screenshot you provided. Please know your company security is our top priority. Thus, our login requirement is our way to ensure the right user is logged in to the account.
To recover your company password, you'll want to click the Forgot Password? link. Once you've clicked it, you'll need to provide your phone number, email address, or user ID, then select Continue.
Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process. You can also read this link on how to reset your password. To learn more about how to fix common sign-in issues in QuickBooks, you can check this link for reference: Get help if you can't sign in to your account.

This was for a user, not the admin. When I clicked "forgot password" all it did was open the "help" window, which did not have any useful info for me. It would not give me the option of signing in as Admin.
Fortunately I finally got the current password correct, something I thought I had tried numerous times. So I no longer have the problem but I didn't find a resolution for it if I had not been able to get "current password" correct.
Hi there, Mary_W,
I'm glad to hear you're now able to log in to your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
A user requires to contact the admin of the file to reset the password. Only the master administrator can change the credentials of a certain user. That's why you're unable to use the I forgot my password link.
You may refer to this article for additional information: Reset your password for QuickBooks Desktop. At the bottom part of this page, you can provide the steps to the admin on how to reset a user password.

Thank you and stay safe!
I KNOW that. I am the Admin. My problem was, if you read the original post, I could NOT get past the login screen for the user. I added a screenshot. I had NO WAY of logging in as the Admin. It was stuck at this login for the user. I've attached the screenshot again for reference.
Apparently my attachment didn't work for some reason. This is the screen I was stuck at.
Thanks for getting back, Mary_W,
You can also sign in to CAMPS to check and verify the login credentials if they match with the one you're trying to enter in the login page.
Also, the Automated Password Reset Tool will help create a new QuickBooks Admin password and access your file again. This is the troubleshooting step when the password reset doesn't work.
Stay in touch if there's anything else you need. I'm always glad to help.
I'm not sure what you mean by veryifying credentials. I was literally stuck at the screen I posted the screenshot for. It would NOT let me login any other way. It did not allow me to access the user name line. I did not have that option or I would not have had a problem.
I had the exact same problem yesterday. The Intuit screen prevented me from accessing my Quickbooks, even though I could type into www.intuit.com and change my password, the screen blocking access to my Quickbooks would not recognize the password that I just changed! This went on for hours, even after getting customer support
