I do not see where the option to make a journal entry is located. Can you tell me where this option is located?

I usually find this option under accountant tools but don't see this is available for this client.

Hi, Bmcclaflin. You can create journal entries for your client by clicking the +New icon on the top left screen or by locating it through the search bar. I'll guide you through the steps.

To find the option to make a journal entry, you can follow these steps:

  1. Using the + New Button:
    1. From your dashboard, click on the + New button located on the left-hand side.
    2. Under the Other section, you should see the option for Journal Entry.
  2. Using the Search Bar, type Journal Entry to create one.

If you still can’t locate the journal entry option like you usually do, open an incognito or private window. This'll help us determine if the issue is cache related. You can refer to these shortcut keys:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Login to your account and make a journal entry again. If the issue is resolved, clear your regular browser's cache to refresh your connection and browsing history. Keep in mind to exclude the cookies. If the issue persists, use a different supported browser, as your current one may have a temporary compatibility issue with QuickBooks.

Furthermore, if you need to adjust an account's total balance in the future, feel free to check out the article to assist you further with the steps: Make adjusting journal entries in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

By following these steps, you should be able to locate the journal entry option and proceed with your accounting tasks. If you have any other questions or need further help, please feel free to reply in the thread. The QuickBooks Community is here to assist you.
