need to have the quantity on hand column print on a build assembly.

Hope you're doing good today, MFL22.

When printing your Build Assemblies in QuickBooks, I can see how vital it is to be able to view the Qty on Hand column on the printed form. For now, we are unable to see it immediately in the print preview.

Our developers are working internally when it comes to product enhancements. With that, let's send this as a product suggestion to them. To log your product suggestions, just go to the Help Menu and select Send Feedback Online.

As a workaround, you can create a custom field to add Qty on Hand on the printed form. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu at the top and tap Item List on the drop-down.
  2. Find the assembly item and double-click to open its info.
  3. Click the Custom Fields tab, then pick Define Fields.
  4. Enter the name in the Label column and choose the Use check box, then hit OK.

Put a checkbox next to Print/Screen so that the new custom field appears on transactions and forms as well. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go back to the Lists menu then choose Templates on the drop-down.
  2.  Find and Build Assembly template that you're using and double-click to open it.
  3. Tap Additional Customization.
  4.  On the Header /Column tab, check the Screen and Print box on the custom field you've added, then hit OK.

We appreciate you joining in on this thread, Buswo.

As we aim to provide convenience to your Quickbooks experience, we recognize the relevance of enabling the Qty on Hand column to show when printing your build assembly forms. We can consider following the workaround steps shared above. In your case, since custom fields won't automatically reflect when clicking Print/Preview on the modified template, you'll need to manually

enter the quantity on hand from the build assembly item you created.

If you've already created custom fields for Qty on Hand from the inventory assembly item and have enabled the Screen & Print checkbox from the Custom Build Assembly template, we can open the build assembly created and manually enter the Qty from there. To do this

  1. Open the Build Assembly you've created.
  2. From the Qty on Hand custom column created, manually change the total Qty.
  3. Click on Print. Then, select Preview.

Moreover, if you want to adjust your inventory of finished goods, you can manually track and review these goods and create adjustments.
