I run a small company where my contractors do not have a standard weekly or bi-weekly pay structure. How can I set them to get paid next day if that’s my choice to do so.

It takes five days or longer for my payment to hit my contractors account. How can I fix that.

We can use direct deposit to help expedite the funds quickly and securely to your contractors' accounts, Claudio8.

First, ensure that each contractor is set up correctly in your QuickBooks Online account. Here's how to do it:

  1. Navigate to the Payroll menu and select Contractors.
  2. Choose Add a Contractor.
  3. Fill in your contractor’s information, or select the checkbox labeled "email this contractor" so they can complete their profile themselves.

  4. Click Add Contractor.

If you opted not to send an email, you can manually add their direct deposit information by following these steps:

  1. Click Add next to Personal Details or Bank Account.
  2. Input the contractor's information.
  3. Click Save.

After adding your contractors, set up direct deposit by selecting a payment plan. I recommend subscribing to QuickBooks Contractor Payments, so you can pay contractors with next-day direct deposit. Make sure to enter your company's bank details first before creating payments.

For a detailed process on how you can send a direct deposit to your contractor, please refer to the Step 3 in this article: Pay a contractor with direct deposit.

The processing time for direct deposit payments to contractors varies depending on the payroll product you're using. It's important to ensure that you submit the payment before the cut-off time (usually 5 PM PT) to ensure it is processed on time. Please refer to this article for more details: Determine what your direct deposit lead time is.

Thanks for the reply, I submitted all that was stated before I sent this issue. I’m really frustrated that I had to pay my contractors in cash. This is very embarrassing that I pay for QUICKbooks but i have SLOW pay.

You should explore Melio to sync with QBO. You can pay your contractors at the same day if required.
