I have import working fine (older per-2019 Desktop version). I wanted to change the memo on the SPL line but it when I import it has the memo from the TRNS line. I'm trying to have the transaction indicate something like Payment to and the SPL to indicate Payment from. I've looked at the IIF Import Kit and it provides no guidance.
Is there a different field to use for Memo in SPL within the IIF? I can change it manually in QB.
@BigRedConsulting I feel like you know most about this

Both the TRNS and SPL type rows have a MEMO field. If you put different values in them, those values will both import for most types of transactions (those that have more than one memo.)
Yes, a Transfer transaction appears to have only one memo field, and so while you can specify a SPL memo, it appears to be ignored when you import - as there's no place for it to be saved.
You could use a check or a journal or a deposit transaction instead, all of which have multiple fields and which will work the same from an accounting point of view.

Let me provide you with tips so you can successfully change the memo on the SPL line when importing .IIF files in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
First, we have to ensure that a correct format is followed. To do that, QBDT has recommended sample .IIF files we can download to use as templates for importing transactions.
Since you've utilized them already, I suggest reaching out to your IT professional. Intuit doesn't offer assisted technical support for creating or importing .IIF files, thus, we're unable to identify if there's a different field to use for Memo in SPL.
In addition, we may also look for third-party apps that may help you with your concern.
I'm also adding an article for you to learn about a more convenient and accurate way of importing .IIF files: Improved IIF Import in QuickBooks 2019 and later. This way, it scans your file for errors which prevents importing bad data to your QuickBooks.
Feel free to leave a reply if you have additional questions about importing .IIF files to QBDT. We're always here to provide our assistance. Stay safe!

I'm focused on transfers. So if the IIF has this:
