Our non-profit receives in-kind donations that we then use for a silent auction at our annual fundraiser. I want to use a sales receipt to enter each donation so that the donor will get credit for the item. Last year, we were using QuickBooks Online and I followed the steps that were given on this website (create a sales receipt, enter a bill, and pay the bill). I have the In-Kind Donations and In-Kind Clearing accounts set up. Now we are using QuickBooks Desktop and that process doesn't seem to work. In the Clearing account, I'm left with an extra entry. The bill and bill payment zero each other out, but the sales receipt is still in there.

Oops! When I did the first post, I got a script error message, so I didn't think it had gone through. Is there a way to delete one of them, or will I just always look like a nitwit?
