Incorrect data

Incorrect data is pulling when I'm logged into my computer than when I log into the computer at our cash wrap. Screenshots attached show one example the same item, same size, and all information is the same until the History section.

Is this a connectivity issue? Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Incorrect data

Hi there, joygreenburg.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I appreciate you for sharing a screenshot of your concern. With this, I'll provide some troubleshooting details to ensure you're able to fix data issues.

When starting QuickBooks Point of Sale, the database connection sometimes pops up, and following it won’t open the company file. This issue may occur if:

  • Network settings aren’t properly configured.
  • The regional setting in Windows is not correct.
  • The firewall is blocking access to the company file.
  • QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale is not installed correctly.

To start fixing the issue, I suggest checking for any loose network cable and close all programs. Then, turn off your computer for about 15 seconds and turn it back on.

If the problem continues to occur, you'll have to configure the server database manager.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the server and close QuickBooks Point of Sale if it’s running.
  2. Choose the Windows Start icon and type "services.msc". Then, press "Enter".
  3. From the list of services, double-click on the version of the QBPOS Database Manager you're using.
  4. From the General tab, select Automatic from the Startup type drop-down menu.
  5. Go to Log On tab and select Local System Account and Allow service to interact with desktop.
  6. Click Apply and return to the General tab.
  7. Select Stop, wait for the Database Manager to stop.
  8. Select Start and wait for the Database Manager to start.
  9.  Click OK.
  10. Reopen QuickBooks Point of Sale on both server and workstation computer.

Additionally, I'm adding this article to view details that will help you resolve errors you might encounter while using POS: Repair QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.

Incorrect data

We saw the same thing the other day. It only occurs when viewing an item in the item list through the preview pane. If you edit the item, then all computers correctly show the same history information. It appears that the preview pane is not reliable for viewing item history.
