Buy now & saveHello,
We have a client who is using 3 different QuickBooks Version on 3 different servers. Versions are:
1 QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions - Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition 24.0
2 QuickBooks Pro Plus 2023
3 QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024
Client Wants to dissolve the 2 servers and want to make it one means want to move all the company files under one server and if possible want to use on one dedicated QuickBooks version. I want to know if it is possible to merge the QuickBooks company file that client is using in QuickBooks Pro Plus edition to QuickBooks Enterprise solution or if we can install both Pro Plus and Enterprise Solution one a single server . Will it create any conflict? As I know that there are few QuickBooks Version that cannot be installed on a single server as it create conflict.
Please Advice
Regards
Ayush
You can store all your company files on one server using a single Quickbooks version, Ayush. Let me discuss this with you and walk you through the process.
Since you have QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise Solutions - Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition 24.0, you can use this as your primary server and update other company files from your QBDT Pro Plus 2023 and 2024. You start this procedure by opening your QBDT Enterprise, then follow the below:
Refer to this article for more guidance on updating your company files: Upgrade to QuickBooks Enterprise from Desktop Pro/Premier. Note that reverting to the previous company file once it's upgraded. Therefore, backing up your current file is recommended.
After updating your company file, you can access it through servers. You can find guidelines for remote access in this material: Open a company file on a remote computer.
Whether it's about optimizing QBDT workflows or if you have more questions about the QBDT company file, please don't hesitate to tag me below. I'm here to assist you at every step.
Hi Irene,

Hello there, Ayush. In line with my colleague Irene R.'s answer, I'll provide you with the steps on how to store company files on one server.
You can use QuickBooks Desktop on a different computer than your server. To access it remotely, you'll need to map the server or host computer as a network drive. Next, set up the computers that will access the files for multi-user mode and set the folder where the company file is stored.
Then, we're going to install QuickBooks Database Manager on your remote computer, here's how:
You can also refer to this article for optional steps: Open a company file on a remote computer.

Do you manage 3 different company files with different user access or do the same users has to access all of those company files?
Hi Chrea,
I am managing 3 different company file with different user access on two different servers. Few company file are running on QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and few of them are one QuickBooks desktop pro plus. We want to bring them under one server and transfer all the files from QuickBooks desktop Prop plus QuickBooks enterprise.
Thank you
You should be able to run all three versions on a single server as long as your specs are strong enough. You will need at least 8GB RAM (5 users); 12GB (10 users); 16GB (15 users); 20GB (20+ users). Consider renewing all three licenses through a reseller and get $200 cashback on each license. You can then use the savings to purchase additional RAM if needed.
