Integration of QuickBooks Enterprise 20 with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Saas)

We are using QuickBooks Enterprise 20 version and we would like to integrate it with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central online (Saas).
I found some solutions that works with QuickBooks Online, but I haven't found any that would work with QuickBooks Enterprise 20.

Thank you

Integration of QuickBooks Enterprise 20 with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Saas)

Good morning, @damjan

I appreciate you coming to the Community with your question about syncing QuickBooks Desktop with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.  I've got the information you need to answer your question.

I can see how beneficial this would be for you and your business. However, the only way you can sync QuickBooks with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is by using the Online version of our product. Although this is the case, I'll send feedback to our Product Developers. They'll be able to consider this in one of the upcoming releases. They take the time to review each request and try to collaborate them in the next available update.

In the meantime, you can check out the QuickBooks Blog to keep up with what's new in the system.

I hope this answers your question. I value you and the success of your business. Should you need any further insight, feel free to ask. I'm only a comment away if you need me. Have a great day!

Integration of QuickBooks Enterprise 20 with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Saas)

Hi,

I spoke with the IT manager at our subsidiary in USA, and he says, that they have some issues at importing a lot of payroll data into the QB Enterprise and that he is not willing to use any cloud based solution for payroll, and that the company policy is to have data stored in-house not in-cloud, so at the moment we will use the current QB Enterprise solution where we will integrate it with MS Dynamics 365BC (in-cloud), but we will not replicate any payroll data into the BC (in-cloud).
I still hope I will convince IT manager to go for the QB on-line solution. btw. Can we use privat cloud for QB on-line? Perhaps, I could convince him to use private cloud (this means that database is stored on our server, as current QB Enterprise database is)...

Thank you

BR Damjan

I appreciate the update you've provided above about which QuickBooks software you prefer in handing your payroll data, @damjan. I'm here to share further details about this.

Currently, the QuickBooks Online (QBO) software uses its cloud-based solution in storing data (i.e., payroll). With this, using a private cloud (server) to store your database isn't an option.

When your IT manager considers the possibility to switch from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QBO, you can help them decide by providing some information on what to expect when doing so. Once they agreed, you can check out this article on how to import your QBDT company file to QBO: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, each version of QuickBooks is designed to address specific business needs. To give you an overview of each product, service, and version of QuickBooks, I'd recommend checking out this article: See which version of QuickBooks is right for you.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about handling your payroll data and company file in QuickBooks, I'm just around to help. Take care always.

Were you able to find an integration with Microsoft BC?  I am looking for one as well.

@Teranawong

Is there a specific goal you need? Only need to mirror transactions or use data from both programs to create reports?

Hi there, Teranawong.

As my colleague shared above, you can use QuickBooks Online and integrate it with Microsoft Business Central.

If you have QuickBooks Desktop, you can use a third-party application to connect the programs. You can check this reference to look for an app: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.

In addition, I agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA. Do you need to mirror transactions, or perhaps need the data from both programs to create reports?

Feel free to browse this page for some tips on managing your QuickBooks file: Help Articles.

Keep me posted whenever you have concerns with QuickBooks.

Thank you for replying.  We need QBD because of multiple inventory sites and assemblies.  There are quite a few apps on the page.  Do you know which, if any, automatically integrates with Business Central or are you referring to something like Transaction Pro where i would need to export from BC, then import into QBDE?

We need, at minimum, a one way communication from BC, which our 3PL uses, to our QBDE file so that inventory details are automatically updated.  It can be a webconnector that automatically queries BC which is cloud-based.

Thank you for your quick reply, @Teranawong. Allow me to join the thread and share additional information about integrating applications with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

I understand that you need in-depth information about the supported applications that can be integrated with Business Central. In this case, I recommend reaching out to Business Central support. From there, they can confirm and give you the list of applications you can use.

On the other hand, you may consider Transaction Pro since it's used for importing and exporting transactions from and to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Another option for you is to set up and use Web Connector. It gives you an easy way to set up and manage an app. You can see all your apps in one place. Connected apps will show all the apps you set up with QuickBooks. If you're interested to download and install it, follow these steps:

  1. Download the installer.
  2. Right-click the installer download, then choose Extract All.
  3. In the extracted folder, right-click the .exe file, then choose Run as Administrator.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

You can find out more about this from this article: Set up QuickBooks Web Connector.

Reach out back to me if you have other QuickBooks questions by leaving a comment below. I'm always here to help. Have a fantastic day!

I am familiar with webconnector but i need an app that to connect to that will pull data from my cloud based BC file and push into my QBD file.  I am trying to identify an app that will do that.  Thank you.

@Teranawong

We couldn't use TP for your needs. Contact me in private and we will introduce you to a 3rd party connector app for the solution.
