Thanks for visiting the Community today, @Jesse_H. I can see that you're using the Online version of QuickBooks.

Are you trying to activate terminated employee? If you wish to rehire your employees, let's change their employment status to Active

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
  2. Click the All Employees drop-down to select Inactive Employees.
  3. From the list, click on the worker’s name to view more details, then click Next.
  4.  Click the Pencil icon for Employment, then click the Pencil icon for Status and choose Active.
  5. Make sure to enter the correct information in the Hire date box, then click Done to keep the changes.

If you mean something else, please let me know so I can provide you with the correct information to help achieving your goal.

Additionally, I'm sharing with you these helpful articles that can guide you in updating your employees' information in QuickBooks Online.

Keep in touch if you need more help in managing your employees' profiles, @Jesse_H. I'll be sure to get back and guide you some more.

Under the Employee information, select the "Employment Information" Tab, then select the "Termination" tab and there is a box for "Recommend Rehire."

I appreciate your prompt response about the rehire list concern,   VaTT.

I want to ensure we're on the same page. Can you provide a screenshot of where you see the "Recommend Rehire" box in QuickBook? This will help me come up with an accurate and timely solution.

I am adding a screenshot from my Employee details for your visual reference.
