Inventory

Our product sales are 95% one-of-a-kind items. We use the inventory portion of QB to assign inventory numbers, their costs and to maintain a current inventory value.  We have no need to establish a reorder level. E.g. sold, invoiced, paid. The active item sold is now an Inactive item. I need QB to update the inventory to reflect the item as “Inactive”. How can this be accomplished?

Inventory

Hi there, @Knuk5685.

QuickBooks doesn't have the option to automatically make inactivate an inventory once fully sold. You'll have to manually make them as inactive so that they won't show up when creating your sales.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Sales
  2. Click Product and services.
  3. Look for the item that you want to inactivate, then click the ACTION drop-down list.
  4. Select Make inactive.
  5. Click Yes to confirm.

After setting up everything, I recommend reading these articles to help you manage your sales and customers: Sales and customers articles
