Why won't "account balance" amount show up on Premier customer invoice? I am able to add the box at the bottom of the invoice, but no amount appears. Also, many of the options on the footer tab for view on screen of template customization are grayed out, including account balance.

Good day, @Jey1. I'd be glad to share info about customizing invoice templates in QuickBooks Desktop.


Before we proceed, can you tell me exactly where did you see the account balance in your invoice template? 

 

If you're referring to the Customer Total Balance in the Footer section of the invoice template, then the option to check its box in the Screen column is unavailable in the program. This is why it's not showing when creating an invoice. Although, you can still check its Print option box to show the customer's total balance when printing the invoice.

On the other hand, you can easily check your customer's balance in the Customers & Jobs section. Simply go to Customers menu and select Customer Center. Then, view their balance under the Balance Total column.
