Buy nowI sell clothing and other items that I make on multiple online sites and recently started selling in a boutique. Some items I have ready and made to sell but mostly make as orders come in. I'm wondering if quickbooks inventory would allow for me to track the finished products as well as raw materials (ex, blank shirts and transfers for shirts). I've looked into craftybase which allows you to make "recipes" for products so wondering what would be similar on quickbooks. I was also wondering if I can track inventory in different locations, like what I have at the boutique. I’d also like to add in familiar with all other aspects of quickbooks except for the inventory portion. Thank you!
The inventory management features in QB Online Plus and Advanced are limited. You will need a 3rd party inventory management app with matrix inventory, multi warehouses, and assembly features to integrate with QB Online Plus or Advanced.
Good morning, @Kl1996.
Welcome to the Community! We appreciate you coming by here and asking to see if QuickBooks is right for your business. I'd be more than happy to provide you with some information on what QuickBooks can offer you for your business.
With all of the questions you asked like, can you track them in different locations, finished goods as well as raw materials, and more. QuickBooks Online could be a great fit for you. I recommend reviewing these two guides below to get additional details about inventory and what each QuickBooks Online product offers:
I also suggest speaking with one of our sales reps to show you some more details about our inventory tracking and how it works. For Sales: 1-855-445-8529.
I hope this helps. I'm only a post away if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful day and we hope to see you become part of the QuickBooks family!
Tracking both finished products and raw materials ain't always simple, especially when you're balancing online platforms with a physical store like a boutique. QuickBooks Inventory might not cut it if you're dealing with complex production processes or need to track raw materials with "recipes" like Craftybase does. It's good for straightforward inventory tracking, but for manufacturing or assembling stuff from raw materials, it's a bit limited. If you've got inventory in multiple locations, like in your boutique, tracking becomes kinda tough unless you spring for QuickBooks Enterprise with Advanced Inventory, which could be too much for what you need right now.
A project I worked on faced similar hassles, and what really helped was adding a mobile solution that bridged those gaps. Something like Cleverence can offer that flexibility. It provides real-time inventory tracking across multiple locations, making sure you ain't searching for missing pieces in your production process.
Cleverence helps you track components and finished goods by working smoothly with your QuickBooks setup. With low-code customization, it fits your specific needs. So, while QuickBooks alone might not be perfect, pairing it with a mobile-first solution is worth considering.
