Hi there, @hlanejr.

Thanks for bringing this MS Outlook concern to our attention. I'm here to help you get this issue sorted out so you can send an email from QuickBooks.

Being unable to send an email through Outlook in QuickBooks Desktop may sometimes be caused by the following:

  • Incorrect email setting.
  • Damaged MAPI32.dll file.
  • QuickBooks isn't running as administrator.
  • Damaged QuickBooks installation.
  • Damaged Outlook installation.
  • Outlook opens in the background when sending email through QuickBooks.

To get this resolved, you can check out this article for some troubleshooting steps: QuickBooks is unable to send your email.

You might also want to consider upgrading your QuickBooks to the latest version to avoid unusual behavior of your software. To learn more about this process, please refer to this article: Upgrade to a new QuickBooks Desktop version.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance. Have a great day!

QB 2011 Reached end of life in May 2014. That means No Sending Email, no payroll, no online banking. Intuit has a 3-year lifecycle under their Discontinuation Plan. QB 2011 also was never compatible with W8 or higher. Worse, your data file is now 8 year behind current. That's especially an issue, because QB 2013 was a Huge Update to the program and all years affect the relational  database.

You need to get QB 2019. You might need Intuit to update that old file for you, as well. Or, take it through Interim Updates: QB 2011-2013-2016-2019. Rebuild it in between each update.
